Lucknow: A hands-on training workshop was organised by the department of neonatology at SGPGIMS on Friday.Attended by paediatricians, neonatologists and intensivists, the workshop provided practical exposure to state-of-the-art monitoring techniques and educated them on advances in neonatal critical care.The workshop served as a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange and skill enhancement, empowering clinicians to deliver optimal care to critically ill newborns.The programme covered essential and advanced monitoring tools, including non-invasive techniques like ICON and NIRS, pulse oximetry, blood pressure, intracranial and abdominal pressure monitoring, as well as hands-on workstation rotations on neurocritical monitoring, e-FAST, CTG, transport care and multiparameter monitoring. Case-based discussions and an interactive quiz added to the learning experience.Cutting-edge equipment — including multiparameter monitors, intact cord resuscitation trolleys, transport incubators and ventilators, amplitude and continuous EEG, NIRS, ICON, CVP and ICP monitoring, e-FAST and POCUS, transcutaneous CO₂ monitoring, CTG monitoring and automated FiO₂ controls — were also demonstrated.
