Diarrhea outbreak in Jankipuram, 1 dead

A 51-year-old man, who was admitted following the diarrhoea outbreak in Jankipuram Extension, died on Saturday at Balrampur Hospital. He was admitted to a CHC in Gudamba on May 22 and was later referred Balrampur Hospital. CMO Dr NB Singh said the hospital’s death audit cited septicaemia, chronic kidney disease, uncontrolled diabetes, and low GC as the cause of death.Meanwhile, a health team inspected 312 houses in Jankipuram, treated 35 patients at a camp — including seven with mild diarrhoea — and discharged eight.
