CS directs publicity of new rural job scheme | Lucknow News

Lucknow: Chief secretary SP Goyal on Wednesday directed district magistrates and divisional commissioners to publicise the Viksit Bharat- Guarantee for Rojgar and Ajeevika Mission (Rural): Viksit Bharat- G Ram G Yojana, the new version of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act.The CS directed them to hold special meetings in all gram sabhas on Decr 26 and speak to people about the scheme so that there is no confusion about it. “Detailed information about the scheme should be given in these meetings. In addition to this, ‘Chaupal Par Charcha’ programmes should be organised in villages to make villagers aware of benefits of scheme. Wide publicity of scheme should be done through social media, hoardings, pamphlets, posters and other mediums,” he said.The CS said no person should be allowed to sleep in the open. Details of bonfires and night shelters should be publicised widely.The CS said that ‘Prerna Canteens’ operated by self-help groups should be opened at public places like Primary Health Centres.
