Lucknow: A day after the police allegedly lathicharged protesting students of a private university, a delegation of UP Congress led by Barabanki MP Tanuj Punia met students of the law department. They have been complaining against the university for admitting students despite revocation of recognition.“The university lost its recognition in 2021, but it continues to admit students and conduct exams, keeping the students in dark. Now, when the truth has come out, they are not letting students withdraw their fees and return documents so that they may take admission in other places,” a party spokesperson said.“When the college students protested, police used canes and batons on them causing serious injuries to them. The oppression did not end there. Policemen not only used batons on girl students but also behaved inappropriately with them,” he said. TNN
