Close call at Lucknow airport: IndiGo flight aborts takeoff seconds after rollout due to technical glitch

LUCKNOW: A Delhi-bound IndiGo flight (6E 2111) was forced to abort takeoff just two seconds after beginning its rollout on the runway at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow on Saturday morning, following a major technical issue detected by the pilots. The aircraft, carrying 171 passengers and six crew members, was scheduled to depart at 11.10 am. However, after the aborted takeoff, it returned to Bay 7 via the taxiway for further inspection. One of the passengers onboard, Amit Singh from Jhansi, shared his experience on social media platform X, stating:

IndiGo Flight to Delhi

“6E2111 take off aborted at the runway within two seconds. Again stating technical issues. Flying in India is getting concerning day by day. Pathetic Indigo. (sic)”Attempts to reach Amit for further comment were unsuccessful at the time of reporting. An official source familiar with the incident confirmed the severity of the issue, saying,“It appears the aircraft’s engine developed a significant fault. The pilots made the prudent decision to abandon takeoff rather than risk flying with over 170 lives onboard.”IndiGo has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.Later IndiGo arranged another aircraft for the passengers, at it departed for Delhi at 1.28 pm and landed safely at 2.12 pm.
