Cleric calls for peace, brotherhood during Barawafat procession | Lucknow News



Lucknow: To express devotion, love, and respect for the Prophet, Muslims took out a Barawafat procession on Friday from Aminabad Park, which passed through Maulviganj, Rakabganj, Nakkhas, Billachpura, and Haiderganj before culminating at Eidgah Aishbagh in Lucknow.Barawafat is celebrated by Muslims to mark the birth of Prophet Muhammad and is also associated with his passing. Participants carried colorful flags inscribed with the names of Prophet and other Caliphs.The procession was led by the chairman of the Islamic Centre of India, Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahali. “Today is a very auspicious day when God sent his last Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad Sahab, to guide all of humanity. It is important for Muslims to spread his message of peace, brotherhood, and humanity,” said Maulana Mahali.
