Class 10 boy knifed to death in group clash at private school in Ghazipur | Lucknow News
Varanasi: In a concerning incident, two groups of class 10 boys at a private school in Ghazipur district engaged in a fierce clash involving fisticuffs, clubs and even knives, which led to a 14-year-old boy being stabbed to death on Monday. The assailant and two more students, who tried to save the boy, suffered injuries in this clash. All the injured were hospitalised. An FIR has been lodged. A senior police officer privy to the probe said that primary inquest report has revealed that the deceased student sustained as many as five deep stab wounds on the abdomen from a kitchen knife. The assault was so severe that multiple vital organs were punctured, resulting in profuse internal bleeding and instantaneous death. The child’s grieving father, struggling to come to terms with the tragedy, broke down while speaking to TOI. “My son never fought with anybody—neither with his juniors nor with his seniors. He was a cheerful, easy-going fellow, always smiling. I really don’t know why he was attacked so brutally,” he said. “He never complained of being harassed or bullied. This is beyond our understanding. The police are telling us one version, but I feel there is more to this story. Something inside the school went terribly wrong,” the boy’s father said. The grieving parent also questioned how a weapon could be brought inside the school premises. Ghazipur SP Iraj Raja said that the school management was also accused of being negligent in this episode after it came to light that a clash took place between the same boys on August 14. However, the matter was not reported to the police, and the school also failed to take preventive measures to avoid the recurrence of an untoward incident. After visiting the school and the hospital to meet the injured students, Ghazipur ASP Gyanendra Nath said, “Two groups of students clashed at the school between 8:30 am and 9 am. During the clash, one student attacked others with a knife. A 14-year-old boy from Yusufpur Muhammadabad area suffered grave injuries and died on the spot, while the assailant and more students were also injured in the clash.” As a precautionary measure, police force has been deployed at the school as well as at the hospital where the injured students have been admitted, the ASP added. On the complaint of the deceased’s father, a named FIR was lodged against the assailant. Further action, like producing the accused before the juvenile board, would be ensured after he gets cured, he added. Senior police officials spoke with the students present at the time of the clash, while the school administration officials and teachers were also called for questioning. No school authority or anyone from the management was available for any comment.
