Bus driver jumps before train, dies

Lucknow: A 45-year-old school bus driver allegedly died by suicide on Saturday afternoon after jumping in front of a moving Swarna Shatabdi Express in Banthra. Police identified the deceased as Ram Prakash.Police said Ram Prakash was a bus driver at a private public school. He left the home around 6am for duty. After picking up children and dropping them at school, he informed staff around 10am that he was going home for lunch. However, he never reached home.Around 12:15pm, police received information from railway authorities that a man had jumped before a train between Harouni railway station and the Sai river, near the Bargadia Baba temple on the Lucknow–Kanpur down line. The train driver of 12004 Down Swarna Shatabdi reported that the man jumped in front of the train. Ram Prakash is survived by wife, two sons and two daughters.The body was sent for postmortem. Officers said the motive behind the suicide remains unclear.
