Ban on land registry in villages | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Immediate ban on land registration in villages under Naimishnagar and Varun Vihar housing schemes was imposed by Lucknow Development Authority in a decision aimed at preventing illegal land sales and to curb involvement of property dealers and middlemen. A letter was sent to sub-registrars of BKT, Sadar and Sarojininagar tehsils, directing them to halt all land sale transactions in these villages to parties other than the authority. This follows reports of farmers registering land in favour of private buyers, which could threaten housing projects approved under the CM’s urban expansion scheme. LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar said Varun Vihar project would cover around 6,580 acres near the Agra Expressway, including villages such as Bhalia, Adampur Indwara, Bahru, Jaliyamou and Madarpur.
