Awareness event on organ donationheld at KGMU | Lucknow News
Lucknow: To promote public understanding and participation in organ donation, KGMU in association with the Alamban Associates Charitable Trust, organised an organ donation awareness programme at the Trauma Centre on Tuesday.The event, coordinated by obstetrics and gynaecology department’s Prof Sujata Dev, began with a welcome address by president of the trust, Sandeep Kumar. Vice-chancellor Prof Sonia Nityanand said that a specialised transplant unit was established at Shatabdi Hospital, along with a committee to streamline transplant procedures. Meanwhile, Prof Medhavi Gautam from department of medicine highlighted that one donor can save up to 8 lives. tnn
