Lucknow: Commemorating the 150th anniversary of the National Song ‘Vande Mataram‘, over 5,000 students sang this immortal composition by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee at an event organised by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at SR Group of Institutions on Friday.The campus reverberated with devotion and pride as thousands of students sang the song in harmony. The event also highlighted the song’s historical significance in India’s freedom struggle. Zonal organising secretary of ABVP East UP, Ghanshyam Shahi, said: “Vande Mataram stands as an eternal emblem of national unity and pride. From the time of our national awakening, this song has continued to guide us. Witnessing thousands of students singing this song in one voice reaffirms its timeless importance in both history and the present.” Vice chairman of SR Group of Institutions, Piyush Singh Chauhan, said: “Today’s event is not merely a cultural programme, but a profound moment to connect with the very soul of India. When thousands of students sing ‘Vande Mataram’ in unison, it transcends music; it becomes a pledge toward a stronger and more united nation.”
