Aligarh: Man gets 20 years jail for ‘caging’, raping 15-year-old girl for 4 months | Agra News
AGRA: A 30-year-old daily wage worker from Sambhal district has been sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment by a special Pocso court in Aligarh for kidnapping and raping a 15-year-old girl. The convict had held the Class XII student captive for nearly four months in Himachal Pradesh before she was rescued in Dec 2021.
Judge Abhishek Kumar Bagaria delivered the verdict on Tuesday, imposing a fine of Rs 18,000 on the convict. Out of this amount, Rs 10,000 has been allocated as compensation for the survivor, according to additional district govt counsel Mahesh Singh.The case dates back to Aug 2021 when the victim’s father reported her missing after she failed to return home from school. Upon inquiring at the school, he learned that she had left early claiming illness. The police located the girl at Aligarh railway station on Dec 20, 2021. In her court statement, the victim stated, “I met him on the way. He covered my face with a scarf and took me somewhere. He kept me in a room. He abused me, beat me and sexually assaulted me. Later, he brought me to the railway station. When he saw the police, he ran away. The police caught me and recorded my statement.”
