ABVMU to offer med edu soon, says Dy CM | Lucknow News



Lucknow: Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU) will soon offer medical education, including MBBS, postgraduate and super-specialty courses, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak announced on Thursday. As of now, the university only provides degrees to the students of affiliated colleges.He said the university administration was asked to prepare a detailed plan for starting these courses, noting that the campus already has the necessary infrastructure, which makes launching medical programmes feasible.Pathak emphasized that the university’s primary objective is to affiliate medical, paramedical and nursing colleges across the state, ensuring timely admissions, examinations and declaration of results. Previously, medical colleges were affiliated with different universities, leading to administrative challenges.Looking ahead, Pathak said the university will establish a digital central library connected to leading medical universities worldwide, allowing students to access national and international research papers, books and other resources.State minister Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh said that the state made remarkable progress in medical education over the past eight years, introducing modern technologies in hospitals and even robotic surgeries.
