Experts, officials share ideas to chart UP’s healthcare strategy | Lucknow News
Lucknow: In a major step toward transforming healthcare in Uttar Pradesh, the state govt on Monday hosted a Stakeholder Consultation to develop a futuristic Health & Medical Education Roadmap under Viksit UP @2047 initiative. The consultation, aimed at creating a citizen-centric and evidence-driven health system, brought together over 700 experts, officials, and industry representatives to chart UP’s healthcare strategy for the next two decades.Deputy CM and health minister Brajesh Pathak said UP will play a pivotal role in realising PM Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. He highlighted the govt’s achievements in expanding healthcare services, including over 25,000 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, 3,500 primary health centres, 200 specialty hospitals, and 81 medical colleges. Officials said govt is working to increase institutional deliveries and reduce maternal and infant mortality rates while expanding district and community health services to ensure rural populations receive timely and quality care. The consultation featured nine thematic sessions including maternal, child,digital healthcare and AI; universal health coverage; mental health and disease management.State minister Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh said that a healthy population is the foundation for economic progress and that healthcare will play a decisive role in building a developed Uttar Pradesh. The govt announced that expert recommendations will be compiled to finalise the Viksit UP @2047 – Health Vision Document, along with short-, medium-, and long-term roadmaps for 2030, 2036, and 2047.
