Five booked for cheating director of pvt firm of Rs 1.5 cr

Lucknow: Director of a private firm has filed a complaint against five individuals for allegedly cheating him and his father of Rs 1.5 crore on the pretext of securing a mining lease. The FIR was lodged at the Vibhuti Khand police station. According to the complaint filed by Kanishk Pratap Singh, director of Jai Shakti Relycon Pvt Ltd, the accused—Daljit Singh of Banda, and Chandrashekhar, Kashiram Chaurasia, Vishakha and Ajit—allegedly defrauded him and his father, Shiv Pratap Singh, by falsely claiming they were about to obtain a lucrative mining lease. Kanishk said in Nov 2019, his father’s friend Daljit Singh introduced them to Chandrashekhar, director of Euphoria Mines and Minerals, based in Bhopal. Chandrashekhar’s firm also listed Kashiram, Vishakha and Ajit as co-directors. The group told Kanishk and his father that their company was on the verge of receiving a mining lease but urgently required Rs 1.5 crore to finalise the process. They assured repayment within two months, with an additional 18% interest in case of delay. Trusting Daljit, the father-son duo transferred the money to Chandrashekhar’s account. However, months passed without repayment. When Kanishk demanded the money back, the accused made excuses. The complainant further alleged that when he and his father visited the accused’s office, they threatened them and even tried to physically assault them. Inspector Amar Singh said police have begun an investigation and are verifying the financial transactions.
