Bhutan PM offers prayers at Ram Temple | Lucknow News
Ayodhya: Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and his wife Aum Tashi Doma visited the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on Friday. The couple spent two hours at the temple and offered prayers. This was the first visit by the PM of another country to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, said Temple Trust general secretary Champat Rai. Tobgay arrived at Ayodhya airport in a state plane around 9:30am and was received by UP cabinet minister Surya Pratap Shahi.The couple did aarti of Ram Lalla and offered flowers to the idol. Tobgay requested for prasad from the priests before he left the sanctum sanctorum.The Bhutan PM praised the intricate carvings and artworks done by artists over the pillars and walls of the temple and took photographs on his mobile phone, said Rai. After visiting the Ram Darbar on the first floor, he was taken around the parkota wall, Kuber Tila, and Saptmandap temples. The premier also took a keen interest in the wall murals and the carvings done on the plinth of the temple.The local administration hosted the premier and his office for lunch, where they were given a traditional welcome and cultural programmes held in their honour.Meanwhile, the committee heading the security of the Ram Temple has decided to recommend the installation of anti-drone guns and a counter system to thwart any attempts of aerial attack on the temple. A proposal is going to be tabled before the state govt to provide the budget.
