Voter list revision 61% complete

Lucknow: Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said the SIR process of updating the voter list is progressing rapidly, with over 9.41 crore forms—approximately 61%—already digitized. The massive exercise involves a workforce of 1,62,486 booth level officers (BLOs), supported by thousands of supervisors and other officials. With the deadline of Dec 4 fast approaching, officers have been directed to expedite the collection and digitisation of all distributed forms. So far, 5,123 booths have already completed 100% of their work. In a push for final completion, districts with slower progress have been instructed to deploy additional staff. Rinwa also issued an important clarification for the public. He noted that some voters may receive multiple forms if their names are registered in more than one location. In such cases, voters should fill out and submit the form only at the address where they ordinarily reside, attaching a recent photograph. TNN
