Vinod Shukla takes charge as AGM NER

Lucknow: Vinod Kumar Shukla took charge as additional general manager of North Eastern Railway on Thursday. Prior to this, he served as the principal chief engineer at Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), Varanasi.An alumnus of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), Allahabad, Shulka graduated in Civil Engineering in 1989. He further honed his skills with a postgraduate degree from the prestigious IIT, New Delhi, in 1991. A 1990-batch Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) officer, he started his career as an assistant engineer in NER in 1991. Among his notable achievements are the construction of bridges over the Son river (90 spans of 30.5 meters each) and the Ghaghra river (18 spans of 61.0 meters), as well as the doubling of the Bhatni-Aurihar section (125 km).TNN
