Vedanti given water burial in Saryu river | Lucknow News



Ayodhya: Final respects were offered to Ramvilas Vedanti on Tuesday, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attending the condolence ceremony in the city.Devotees showered flowers on the funeral procession of Ram temple movement leader at various places to pay their respects. The funeral procession began at 2:20pm from his residence in Ayodhya and after passing through Janki Mahal reached the main road.Along Ram Path, devotees paused for an external darshan of the Ram Temple and Hanumangarhi. The procession then made its way to Tulsidas Ghat on the banks of the Saryu, where Vedanti’s body was immersed in the river amid Vedic chants.Vedanti’s mortal remains were secured with four sand-filled sacks, each weighing 25 kg, before being lowered into the midstream of the Saryu for immersion.Earlier, the mortal remains were kept at his residence in Ayodhya for final darshan. The CM, minister Surya Pratap Shahi, BJP leader Brijbhushan Singh and others paid tribute to Vedanti. Saints from across the country also reached Ayodhya for his final darshan.
