Over 100 cops donate blood on Patel anniv

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Police Headquarters in Gomtinagar Extension observed National Unity Day to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel with a blood donation camp on Friday.Director general of police (DGP) Rajeev Krishna led the celebrations by unveiling Patel’s statue and garlanding it before administering the national unity pledge to officers and staff, reaffirming commitment to national integrity and internal security. The voluntary blood donation camp was inaugurated by the DGP himself by donating blood. The camp, held in collaboration with SGPGI Lucknow, saw enthusiastic participation from over 100 police personnel across various units. Senior officers, including additional DGP (administration) Prashant Kumar, IG (personnel) Shalabh Mathur, IG (human rights) Aparna Kumar, IG (building and welfare) RK Bhardwaj, and DIG (Cyber Crime) Pawan Kumar, joined the drive. All donors received certificates from SGPGI, while the DGP commended and felicitated the participating officers, highlighting that the blood donation reflected the police force’s spirit of service, unity, and humanity on the day dedicated to the Iron Man of India.
