Match abandoned, UPBaroda share points

Lucknow: The Ranji Trophy match between Uttar Pradesh and Baroda in Vadodara was abandoned on the final day without a single ball being bowled over the course of four days. The cancellation was attributed to a persistently wet pitch, despite favourable weather conditions throughout the match days. As a result, both teams were awarded one point each.Arvind Kapoor, the coach of Uttar Pradesh Ranji Trophy team, said: “Despite sunshine on all four days, the match could not take place, which is disappointing.” He said that an Under-23 match was successfully conducted on the B ground of the same stadium, underscoring the frustration felt by players and coaching staff.According to sources, Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has lodged a formal complaint with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), citing mismanagement and disorganization by the host association.UPCA has sought measures to prevent such occurrences in future, which not only disrupt the competitive spirit of the tournament but also affect the morale of players involved.
