Man beats bro to death over property dispute | Lucknow News
Lucknow: A dispute over property claimed a life after a man and his wife allegedly beat his elder brother to death in Gomti Nagar’s Khargapur area on Tuesday, police said.The deceased was identified as Ramdev (52). According to police, Ramdev had stepped out around 8.30pm to buy vegetables when he was intercepted near the panchayat bhawan by his younger brother Monu and his wife Seema. The couple allegedly demanded a share in the family house. When Ramdev refused, the argument quickly turned violent. Police said Monu attacked his brother with a bamboo stick. Even after Ramdev fell to the ground, the accused allegedly climbed onto his chest and kicked him repeatedly. Seeing the assault, locals gathered at the spot, following which the couple fled. A village youth informed Ramdev’s son Jitesh over the phone. Family members rushed to the scene and, with the help of passers-by, took the critically injured man to a nearby hospital. He was later referred to Lohia Institute, where doctors declared him dead.SHO Gomti Nagar Extension Sudhir Awasthi, said search was on for the couple.
