Lucknow: Sita is portrayed as a cheerful, independent, and self-assured woman who raises Luv and Kush with love, wisdom, and strong values. This refreshing portrayal was the focus of the sixth session of Koshala Literary Festival. The discussion featured author Anamika, and writer Nisha Gautam.Anamika urged the audience to look at Sita beyond traditional readings, emphasising her inner strength, clarity of thought, and quiet joy. She said literature plays a key role in preserving emotions and giving them meaningful expression.Nisha Gautam spoke about the challenge of presenting such layered ideas across languages while maintaining their sensitivity, depth, and cultural essence. Gautam said that offering a relatable, contemporary understanding of Sita’s character is difficult, but common women relate to her journey.
