IIT-Kanpur confers alumni award upon Awanish Awasthi | Lucknow News

Lucknow: IIT-Kanpur on Wednesday conferred the Distinguished Alumni Award 2025 upon Awanish Kumar Awasthi (BT/EE/1985), advisor to CM Yogi Adityanath. In a social media post, the institute said: “Carrying forward the legacy of IIT-Kanpur, Awasthi has served with distinction in public administration, infrastructure and policy leadership. An IAS officer of the 1987 batch, he is currently advisor to the CM and has held pivotal roles including additional chief secretary (home), CEO of UPEIDA and chairman & managing director of UP Power Corporation Ltd.” “Over a career spanning more than 35 years, he has led landmark initiatives such as the completion of the Purvanchal and Bundelkhand Expressways and the launch of the Ganga Expressway while championing modernisation in policing and the upliftment of persons with disabilities. He continues to contribute to the One Trillion Dollar Economy Project of Uttar Pradesh.”
