Lucknow: The state health department will launch monthly reviews and compliance check meetings to improve the quality of services and the implementation of health programmes.Passing relevant orders in this regard on Friday while holding a review of Kanpur, additional chief secretary (medical health and family welfare) Amit Kumar Ghosh said: “A dedicated checklist and dashboard to track progress be made for this purpose.” He also instructed the director general, medical and health services to convene a compliance meeting soon and said similar reviews would be held in other divisions. “All medical and technical personnel must remain alert and committed to patient care,” Ghosh said in the meeting, besides directing chief medical officers to conduct at least two field visits each month to verify the functioning of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, ensure proper signage and geo-tagging of facilities and enforce fire safety norms. Prior to the meeting, 57 state-level two-member teams inspected health units across all districts of Kanpur Division on Oct 29 and 30. The teams covered 90% of community health centres, 58% of primary health units and 513 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs/sub-centres, including nine of ten district hospitals. The inspections assessed drug availability, water supply, cleanliness, human resources, and service quality. Most beneficiaries expressed satisfaction with the healthcare received, though officials were asked to address identified gaps within timelines. The review was attended by Dr Pinky Jowal, mission director, NHM; K Vijayendra Pandian, divisional commissioner; Dr Ratan Pal Singh Suman, director general (medical and health services); and other senior state and divisional officers.
