FIR against SP functionary for running school illegally in govt building

Lucknow: An FIR was lodged on Wednesday against Samajwadi Party functionary Pooja Shukla and unidentified individuals for allegedly trespassing into a locked govt primary school building in Lucknow and operating an unauthorised school without any approval from authorities.According to the complaint filed by Ashutosh Mishra, headmaster of the Umarbhari Primary School in the Bakshi Ka Talab (BKT) area, the school was officially closed on July 1 after being merged with the Basic School Barhauli due to low enrolment. As per procedure, the school premises were locked, with one key retained by the headmaster and another held by a school cook, Malti, who resides in a nearby panchayat bhawan and handles maintenance duties.Despite the closure, Shukla and others allegedly forced open the locked gate on July 31 and began conducting classes using the govt infrastructure. A video surfaced on social media showing Shukla teaching at the site, prompting departmental scrutiny. The complainant claimed that this activity was carried out without any prior permission from the district administration or the education department. The next day, education officials directed the headmaster to relock the premises and initiate legal proceedings against those responsible. The FIR, registered at Sairpur police station, invokes charges of criminal trespass and unauthorised use of govt property.Additional DCP of north zone, JP Dubey said that an FIR under the BNS charges of 324 (4) (mischief causing damage) and 329 (4) (criminal trespass) was registered against Shukla and unidentified others.
