BSP to contest Bihar polls onits own; Maya shares roadmap | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Disclosing a detailed roadmap for the Bahujan Samaj Party, its chief Mayawati officially declared on Sunday that her party would contest the Bihar election on its own.After two days of a high-level review meeting of the party, Mayawati wrote on X on Sunday: “In view of the party’s decision to contest the elections in Bihar, to be held in the next few months, discussions were held with senior office-bearers on the selection of candidates and overall preparedness.“The BSP chief said she would directly supervise the programmes such as party yatras and public meetings, scheduled to begin early next month. However, special responsibility for these initiatives has been given to her nephew and newly appointed BSP national coordinator Akash Anand, Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Gautam, who is also a central co-ordinator, and the party’s Bihar unit.She also divided the state into three zones with senior leaders assigned separate charge of each.“Bihar is a large state, and considering its current needs, a decision was made in the meeting to divide all the assembly seats into three zones and assign responsibility to senior party members accordingly. Along with preparing for the elections in Bihar, party members assured the party leader in the meeting that the BSP would achieve better results in the elections, taking into account the rapidly changing political situation and electoral equations in the state,” she said.“It is noteworthy that prior to this, the party leader personally conducted review meetings in Odisha and Telangana to assess the party’s organizational preparations and the missionary efforts aimed at increasing the party’s support base, following the UP model from the district to polling booth level,” she added.
