Civic body to roll out red carpet for city’s very own Shux | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) will organise a grand reception for Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, the first Indian astronaut to board the International Space Station (ISS).He, along with other fellow astronauts, returned to Earth last month after his 20-day space sojourn as part of Axiom Mission 4. As per the plan, the LMC will set up welcome gates at prominent locations across the city to welcome the Lucknow boy, who is also known as Shux . The event will be attended by corporators, municipal officials, and employees under the leadership of mayor Sushma Kharakwal. The decision was taken at an executive committee (EC) meeting on Friday. In the meeting, corporator Charanjeet Gandhi was elected as the vice president of the LMC executive committee. The meeting also included the announcement of six new executive members: Arun Kumar Rai, Pinky Rawat, Rajesh Singh, Ram Naresh Chaurasia, Sandeep Sharma, and Prithvi Gupta. Discussions during the meeting focused on various civic issues, including the improvement of street lighting, park enhancements, drainage and sewer management, and road maintenance, especially in preparation for the upcoming festival season. The meeting also addressed employment provisions for the dependents of deceased municipal employees.
