Lucknow: The 150 years of Vande Mataram is not only the journey of the national song but also the story of India’s national consciousness, said Leader of the Opposition in the UP Legislative Council Lal Bihari Yadav.Talking about the history of the national song, Lal Bihari said: “This is not only a composition of words but also the expression of devotion, sacrifice and national love towards Bharat Mata. Vande Mataram is the soul of our freedom struggle and does not belong to any one party, ideology, or organisation; rather, it is the voice of India, which has adopted diversity, the Constitution, and democracy. Lal Bihari said: “People in the country want to know if the certificate of patriotism will be distributed by some political parties. This is not allowed by Vande Mataram.” He added that Vande Mataram does not allow youth without employment, farmers protesting on roads and inflation being high. “We respect Vande Mataram, but when nationalism is forced on someone, it makes the nation weak. Samajwadi Party does not make a show of patriotism but takes it as a responsibility,” he said. Vande Mataram is about ensuring the security of women, giving employment to youth, respecting the constitution, and giving MSP to farmers, he said.
