‘Health awareness key to a strong nation’

Lucknow: Health awareness among citizens is key to a strong and wealthy nation.These views were presented by speakers during a seminar and medical awareness camp organized to mark former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth anniversary (Dec 25) at Maulana Azad Memorial Academy in collaboration with State Takmeel-ut-Tibb College and Hospital on Friday.Chief guest and Academy general secretary, Dr Abdul Qudoos Hashmi, said Vajpayee believed a nation’s real strength lies in healthy citizens, enabling sustainable development through physical and mental fitness.Prof Safia Lokhande, the college’s in-charge professor, outlined the camp’s aim to educate people on lifestyle diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and obesity for timely prevention. “Only fit citizens can build a strong India,” she added.Other speakers including Dr Mohammad Saqib, Dr Faria Khatoon, Dr Ubaid ur Rahman, Dr Abdul Azeem, Dr Aafia Haider, and Dr Atiqa discussed preventive medicine.
