‘BJP should issue ‘reason docu’ on unfulfilled vows’ | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Taking a jibe at govt’s ‘Vision 2047′ document, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said the BJP should instead come out with a ‘Reason Document’ to explain why the party failed to fulfill a single promise that it had made in run up to previous elections in the past decade. The BJP govt tabled its ‘Vision 2047′ document before the UP assembly on Wednesday afternoon for debate in a special 24-hour long marathon session that will conclude on Thursday. “The only ‘vision’ that the BJP has is ways to mislead the people, spread hatred among different communities and use govt projects to feed corruption and destroy constitutional institutions,” he said. The former UP CM said: “People of the state are waiting for the BJP and its associates to present a detailed account of reasons behind the party and govt’s failure to fulfil even a single promise that they have made before the elections in the past 10 years. The BJP has no place to hide. This ‘Vision document’ is another plot to sell dreams to the people.” He cited promises like doubling the income of farmers, jobs for youth, free electricity for farmers and pointed out that healthcare infra-structure, law and order machinery and education sector were in shambles and schools are being closed. “The fact remains that BJP does not have any vision whatsoever for the future of the people in UP. If they had any vision for a better future, they would have set-up power stations, improved roads and built dams to contain floods. But nothing has happened at any of these fronts,” the SP president said. “BJP’s politics of hate and discrimination has led to discontent among people. People have seen through the destructive work culture of the BJP where injustice and exploitation is at its extreme. Justice is elusive for every section of the society. The situation has come to a pass that the BJP is scared to face the people of the state,” the SP chief said. He said instead of working for the betterment of the poor, the BJP had taken steps which had hit the deprived and the neglected the hardest. “All govt departments are being sold off to private entities. Government educational institutes are being shut to pave way for private ones to systematically do away with reservation in jobs,” he said.
