Bengaluru MNC worker dies ofheart attack at Lucknow airport

Lucknow: A 42-year-old finance executive with an MNC in Bengaluru died after allegedly collapsing at the parking of Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow late Friday evening, police officials said on Sunday.The deceased, Anoop Kumar Pandey, suddenly fell ill in the airport’s parking area shortly after arriving to board an Air India flight to Bengaluru via Delhi. His flight was scheduled to depart at 10.30 pm on Friday and was on time, say cops.Airport staff rushed him to Lokbandhu Hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival. The incident which took place on Friday came to light on Sunday.According to officials, Pandey came from Kanpur by car but was delayed due to traffic congestion en route to the airport. Assistant commissioner of police, Krishnanagar, Rajneesh Kumar, said that he was to board an Air India flight to Delhi first and then it was to take him to Bengaluru.Police arrived at the spot soon after and initiated legal formalities. The family was informed, and the post-mortem examination was conducted on Sunday after his relatives reached Lucknow. “Initial findings suggest a heart attack, but the exact cause will be confirmed after the autopsy report,” said SHO Ramdev Ram Prajapati.“We will be probing the sequence of events and wait for the post mortem report,” said ACP Kumar.Pandey, originally from Kalyanpur in Kanpur, was living in Bengaluru with his wife, son and daughter. He had travelled to Kanpur five days earlier to attend a cremation ritual. According to the family, he was scheduled to return to Bengaluru via Delhi on Friday.His brother Anil, who arrived from Kanpur, was present during the post-mortem. With frequent flight cancellations over the weekend, Pandey’s wife and children began travelling from Bengaluru to Lucknow by road. Police said further investigation is underway.
