Bahraich police nab 3 stealing vehicles for sale in Nepal | Lucknow News
Bahraich: Rupaidiha police in Bahraich arrested three members of an international vehicle theft gang and recovered 16 stolen motorcycles from their possession. The gang was involved in stealing vehicles from Indian Territory and selling them in Nepal at cheap rates.According to Rupaidiha SHO Ramesh Rawat, his team was checking suspicious persons and vehicles at Pachpakdi Chauraha when they noticed three youths arriving on two motorcycles. When stopped, they failed to produce any ownership documents and admitted that both motorcycles were stolen. Police detained them and on further interrogation, the trio revealed they had hidden 14 more stolen motorcycles in the Chakiya forest area. Police immediately reached the spot and recovered all motorcycles.ASP (rural) Durga Prasad Tiwari confirmed the accused were identified as Javed, Kamaruddin and Suhel. While Javed and Kamaruddin are residents of Nepal, Suhel belongs to Bulandshahr, UP.The gang was operating on both sides of the border stealing vehicles from India to sell in Nepal and smuggling stolen Nepalese vehicles for sale in Indian markets. Police are now gathering information about their other associates and facilitators. All three arrested accused were produced before the court.
