‘Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein’ leaves audience deeply moved | Lucknow News



Lucknow: Growing concerns over the increasing number of elderly people being abandoned in India, leading to a rise in old-age homes, took centre stage on Friday evening in the Hindi play Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein at the International Buddhist Research Institute.Written by Jaivardhan, the play sought to remind audiences of the weakening fabric of family relationships. Organised by the senior citizens’ welfare organisation Shraddha Manav Seva Evam Kalyan Samiti, the play was directed by Prabhat Kumar Bose. The story revolved around the emotional turmoil faced by elderly individuals who, after a lifetime of raising families, are now left in an old-age home, Apna Ghar.The play also highlighted how society can be better balanced when there is cordial understanding between the two generations. The play concluded to prolonged applause, leaving many in the audience visibly moved.
