MLA for policy to protect kids from pollution

Lucknow: MLA Rajeshwar Singh wrote to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urging the immediate formation of a “Clean-Air Educational Continuity Policy” to safeguard children during severe pollution episodes in Delhi-NCR. His letter followed a CNN report on Nov 23 that recorded Delhi’s AQI above 450, placing it firmly in the severe category. He outlined a five-point policy framework aimed at protecting schoolchildren during severe pollution spikes. He proposed automatic implementation of online classes whenever a district’s AQI crossed the severe threshold of 300 or above, district-wise AQI monitoring dashboards to trigger advisories for school closures or transition to online mode, uninterrupted digital learning through existing e-learning platforms run by the state education department, coordination between education, health, environment and IT departments to activate the policy before the Dec–Jan smog peak, and urgent directives to all NCR district magistrates to ensure immediate enforcement.
