‘RSS key transformations must for nation’s social evolution’

Lucknow: Former DGP Prashant Kumar on Sunday said that ‘swadeshi’ and ‘atma-nirbharta’ are crucial pillars for India’s present and future progress.Speaking at the 4th Nanaji Deshmukh Memorial Lecture on the theme ‘Sangh@100: Samagra Vikas Chintan’ (Holistic Development Vision) at NBRI auditorium, Kumar highlighted five key transformations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), describing them as essential for the nation’s social evolution.NBRI director Ajit Shasani and senior RSS functionary Ram Madhav were also present.Ram Madhav said that the RSS was often considered difficult to understand from outside, and understanding its senior volunteers was essential to understand the organisation. “Sangh is a rare global example of an organisation that has remained continuously active for 100 years, despite facing multiple bans — first during British rule and later in independent India. He said the RSS’s uninterrupted work over a century enabled it to grow into a “vast banyan tree” rooted in national service. “The organisation’s core mission is to unite society and awaken 140 crore citizens,” he added, calling the Sangh’s contribution to national development a major achievement.Around 200 intellectuals and public representatives attended the event.
