Jamboree kicks off today | Lucknow News
Lucknow: The 19th National Jamboree of the Bharat Scouts and Guides will begin in Lucknow on Sunday, marking its return to the city after 61 years. The Diamond Jubilee celebrations will take place from Nov 23 to 29, during which Lucknow will serve as the global hub for Scouts and Guides. Participants from across India and overseas will arrive on Nov 23 to begin the camp, while the formal inauguration ceremony is scheduled for Nov 24. Alongside registration and rehearsal activities, the Jamboree Hospital and Blood Donation Camp will also be inaugurated on the first day.The program will begin at 10 am with the registration of thousands of Scouts and Guides. Following this, participants will select their color party and band and continue rehearsals for the opening ceremony. After lunch, a second rehearsal will be conducted. At 5.30 pm, a meeting of group leaders will review the schedule and upcoming activities. Wing-wise competitions will then begin, allowing participants to display creativity, discipline, and skills. A meeting of Jamboree staff and sub-camp leaders will be held at 6.30pm. The day will conclude with a campfire at 8:30 pm.
