Woman pilgrim fails to return from Pak, central agencies start probe | Chandigarh News


Kapurthala: After Sarabjeet Kaur, alias Jatti, 48, who had gone to Pakistan as a part of Sikh pilgrimage jatha to Nanakana Sahib, did not return home within the specified time, officials of central agencies and police reached her village Amanipur in district Kapurthala. It is reported that she was living with her two sons in the village. Her sons informed the visiting officials that their father was estranged, and they were residing in the village with their mother. They appeared clueless about their mother’s whereabouts. Talwandi Chaudharian SHO Nirmal Singh stated that there were three cases registered against her in the past. “We are still trying to ascertain their exact status,” he said.Sultanpur Lodhi ASP Dheerendera Verma mentioned that they were gathering all the details about Sarabjeet. Her passport was issued by the Regional Passport Office, Jalandhar, in Jan 2024. Police officials are also investigating her police clearance certificate.
