Neither Kanpur Police nor UP ATS officials have provided any official information regarding the doctor’s detention. The Delhi Police, in coordination with the ATS, continue to investigate multiple angles, including the role of accomplices and possible future threats.Umar Un Nabi confirmed as bomber, module planned multi-vehicle IED attackUmar Un Nabi, confirmed through DNA testing as the bomber in Old Delhi, was part of a module that had planned a “spectacular terror attack” involving multiple vehicle-borne IEDs followed by assault rifle firing, sources in the security establishment said on Wednesday. The group had procured three vehicles — an i20, a red Ford Ecosport, and a Brezza — for the mission. While the i20 was detonated in the blast, authorities issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) notice for the other two vehicles, suggesting additional explosives may have been hidden by the module. The Ecosport, with a Delhi registration ending in 0458, was recovered Wednesday in Faridabad, while the Brezza remains untraced. The cars were allegedly acquired by Umar.Investigations indicate that their plans extended beyond Delhi, with Ayodhya also marked as a target. An attack was reportedly intended on November 25 during the hoisting of a saffron flag atop the Ram temple. The suspects disclosed that they had prepared a mixture of ammonium nitrate and RDX, though it is still unclear if this was the explosive used in the car blast. The plot was originally hatched in Turkey in 2022. As reported by TOI, Umar was reportedly acting under instructions from his Turkey-based handler, identified by the codename Ukasa.
