Miniature marvels take center stage at this bonsai bash

Continuing their decades-long tradition of teaching and preserving the ancient Japanese art of bonsai, the Awadh Bonsai Association marked its Silver Jubilee while commemorating their founder, the late Santosh Arora’s journey, with a two-day event titled Mega Bonsai Exhibition, which brought together nature enthusiasts, bonsai masters, and art lovers from across the country at a city hotel.

As part of the celebrations, renowned bonsai masters from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Jaipur conducted live demonstrations. Jyoti Parekh and Nikunj Parekh, Veer Chaudhary, Soumik Das and Ravindra Damodram respectively guided attendees step by step, demonstrating techniques to shape the tree into a bonsai masterpiece.

The exhibition featured a range of bonsai displayed in traditional styles, from Premna shaped in the Penja and Saikei styles to a Blue Braya arranged in the Rock Penjing style, a Tamarind crafted in the Bunjin style, and a sculptural Sea Hibiscus showcased in the semi-cascade form, each reflecting exquisite artistry.
