Schoolboys booked for injurious attack on junior

Lucknow: A 16-year-old student of Class 11 was assaulted by six seniors with sharp-edged weapon, causing serious facial injuries, while he was returning home from school in Hazratganj area. He was taken to Syama Prasad Mukherjee Civil Hospital for primary treatment and he received stitches. According to written complaint by his father, resident of Charbagh, around 3pm on Nov 7, after school, the boy boarded an auto-rickshaw along with a friend to return home. A group of six Class 12 students from his school intercepted the vehicle and pulled him out, before attacking him with a sharp object. Medical report was submitted to Hazratganj police station and FIR under relevant sections for assault and causing grievous hurt was lodged. Police said the accused students had been identified and inquiry was launched to ascertain the motive for the attack.Hazratganj police station inspector Vikram Singh said, “Statements of the boy, his classmates and school authorities are being recorded and appropriate legal action will follow after verification of evidence.” TNN
