Man burnt alive by paramour,her siblings in Siddharthnagar

Lucknow: A married man was allegedly set afire by his paramour and her siblings in UP’s Siddharthnagar district on Wednesday, police said, adding that the victim succumbed to burns while undergoing treatment at BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur on Thursday night.Police said that the victim, aged 30, ran a milk business in Delhi and was in a relationship with a 28-year married woman, who had left her husband and was living with her parents in the same village in Siddharthnagar district.“The duo had even eloped to Mumbai and returned home this Diwali. The woman’s family was furious over their affair. The woman wanted to end their relationship but the man refused to relent,” a police officer privy to the investigation said.The woman invited her paramour to her house for dinner on Wednesday night, where she, with the help of her younger sister and brother (20 and 19 years, respectively), poured petrol on him and set him ablaze.Engulfed in flames, the man ran out of the house and collapsed on the road. Villagers took him to a local health centre where doctors referred him to BRD Medical College in neaghbouring Gorakhpur.“The victim’s wife lodged a complaint, accusing her husband’s paramour and her siblings of planning and executing the murder,” said station house officer Anoop Mishra.Superintendent of police, Siddharthnagar, Abhishek Mahajan said an FIR had been lodged and all the accused had been arrested.
