Speeding car crushes boy in Bakshi Ka Talab, driver flees

Lucknow: An 8-year-old boy was killed after a speeding car hit him near a dhaba in Lucknow’s Bakshi Ka Talab area on Wednesday evening, police said.The victim, Krishna, was walking along the roadside when the vehicle struck him with such force that he was thrown several metres away. The child suffered severe head and arm injuries and bled profusely. Locals rushed him to a private hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Krishna’s father, Moolchand, a labourer from Khairabad in Sitapur, was living with his family in a roadside hut near the accident site. The car driver fled the spot after the incident. Krishna is survived by his mother and three sisters. “Police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem. Officers from Bakshi Ka Talab police station said CCTV footage from the area is being scanned to identify the vehicle and the driver. A case is being registered for rash and negligent driving,” said police.
