Heritage Walk to retrace martyrs’ footsteps | Lucknow News

Lucknow: Aadaab Arz Tanzeem, Lucknow is organising a special Heritage Walk with the objective of preserving and celebrating the city’s historical heritage and rich cultural traditions. The walk will take place on Sunday, Nov 9, at 2:45 pm at the historic Lucknow Residency complex. Eminent citizens of the city, history enthusiasts and social workers will participate in the walk.The highlight of the event will be a presentation by Janab Jafar Rizvi Sahab, in which he will shed light on the events of the First War of Independence (1857) that took place at the Residency, memories of the martyrs buried there and contribution of the local nawabs, rulers and landlords of Lucknow and nearby regions to the struggle for freedom from British.This walk will not only take participants through the ruins and historical significance of the Residency but also offer a glimpse into Lucknow’s composite Ganga-Jamuni culture, symbolising the city’s unity and heritage.
