Vande Mataram is voice of India's soul, says UP BJP chief

Lucknow: UP BJP president Bhupendra Chaudhary on Wednesday described ‘Vande Mataram‘ as not just a national song but the voice of India’s soul. The BJP is celebrating the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram.’Speaking to reporters, Chaudhary said that the national song was the voice that showed India the path to freedom. “Whenever the country faced a crisis, this song instilled new energy, courage, and unity in the hearts of every Indian,” he said. Chaudhary mentioned that ‘Vande Mataram’ not only praises the motherland but also embodies the spirit of reverence, sacrifice, and dedication to the nation. Even in independent India, he said, its relevance is greater than ever. This song reminds us that our nation is built not only by borders but by a shared culture, emotions, and a sense of duty. Given the song’s significant role in the freedom struggle, the BJP has decided to launch a series of programmes to mark the occasion. Chaudhary stated that on Nov 7, to mark the 150th anniversary of the national song, 150 party workers will organise mass ‘Vande Mataram’ singing and gatherings at 18 locations in Uttar Pradesh. Programmes will also be held at the assembly and mandal levels, led by MPs, MLAs, and senior leaders. In addition, Tiranga Yatras, Prabhat Pheri, bike rallies, exhibitions, and literary activities will also be organised as part of the campaign. Exhibitions will be held in all districts, including the state capital, while essay, poetry, and painting competitions will be held in schools and colleges to familiarise the new generation with the inspiration and significance of the national song.
