DG NCC interacts with cadets, officials; meets Yogi | Lucknow News



Lucknow: Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Lt Gen Virendra Vats visited UP NCC Directorate in Lucknow to review ongoing activities and interacted with cadets and officials.Lt Gen Vats was briefed on functioning of 11 NCC Groups and 110 Units operating under UP Directorate. He engaged directly with cadets from various units, offering them guidance and encouragement and commended their dedication to national service.Accompanied by Maj Gen Vikram Kumar, ADG UP Directorate, DG NCC received guard of honour from cadets at Lucknow Group Headquarters and while inspecting the boat club, interacted with naval cadets and appreciated their training and preparedness.At Directorate Headquarters, Lt Gen Vats held a meeting with all Group Commanders, addressing key issues related to quality training and operational efficiency. He emphasised importance of high standards in cadet development, especially in largest NCC Directorate in the country.DG NCC praised UP Directorate’s efforts in shaping future leaders and empowering youth through camps, adventure activities and community programmes and urged cadets to remain committed to the ‘Nation First’ motto. He also highlighted significant role NCC alumni play in nation-building.Lt Gen Vats also had an informal interaction with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at CMO, where he shared insights into NCC’s impact and discussed future opportunities for students, particularly those from border areas, to engage with the organisation and share their aspirations. The visit underscored NCC’s commitment to youth development and its growing role in fostering leadership, discipline and patriotism among students across UP.
