Lucknow/Bahraich: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday met the families of people who lost their loved ones in the recent boat capsize and handed over cheques for Rs 4 lakh each to the affected families.The CM said that the govt and public representatives were standing with the affected families in this hour of grief.Yogi also conducted an aerial survey to assess the situation and directed the officials to relocate the affected families of Bharthapur within a month. The govt has approved Rs 21.55 crore for the purpose.The CM also asked officials to provide financial assistance, land, and housing to affected families. “All displaced families from Bharthapur should be relocated by establishing a colony in the name of the village,” he said.He said that the process of relocating people from other villages like Bharthapur in Bahraich should be initiated, and the necessary budget for relocation should be presented to the govt, so that they could also be relocated to a safe location at the earliest.He also instructed that residents living in dense forest areas of Bahraich be relocated to safer locations.“Rehabilitation plan must include all essential amenities such as electricity, water supply, roads, and housing. Officials must complete the entire process within a month to ensure swift rehabilitation of affected families,” Yogi said.On Oct 29, a 60-year-old woman drowned, and eight people, including five children, went missing after a boat capsized in Kaudiyala river near Bharathapur village in a densely forested area of Bahraich district. Thirteen passengers were rescued.
