Service Selection Centre to hold 50th raising day today

Lucknow: Selection Centre East (SCE), Prayagraj, the oldest and largest Service Selection Centre in India, is set to celebrate its raising day on Saturday.Established in 1976 when the 11 Service Selection Board (SSB) moved to Allahabad, SCE has grown into a premier institution with five boards—11, 14, 18, 19, and 34 SSBs—making it the largest selection centre in the country. Entering its 50th year, SCE continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the leadership of the Indian Armed Forces. Accorded Category ‘A’ Establishment status in May 1998, SCE has been instrumental in selecting more than half of the Indian Army’s officer cadre. “With advanced training facilities and innovative assessment processes, the Centre operates on the guiding principles of enabling candidates, evolving procedures, and empowering assessors,”said spokesperson of ministry of defence, Prayagraj. tnn
