3-day Kala Yatra exhibition begins | Lucknow News
Lucknow: A group of 15 artists from 13 states showcased their artworks at a three-day painting exhibition titled Kala Yatra, which kicked off at the Kala Srot Art Gallery on Friday.Sunil Jangid from Rajasthan displayed artworks made of limestone, sandstone, slate, marble, and teakwood. “I have cut pieces of stones and stuck them on canvas. In one painting, animals, waterfalls, trees, the sun, and the moon are shown emerging from the hair strands of Mother Earth,” he said. Another artist, Tripti Seth from Maharashtra, created paintings using cotton threads on cloth. “I have depicted what I observed while visiting different places. In one painting, I stitched and created an illusion of ten freedom fighters shown in the form of a tree,” she said. Artist Pawan Saini from Meerut created mountains, rocks, and hill pathways using acrylic colour applied with a blade. Bittu Jhoke from Haryana presented modern art using acrylic colours, while Shruti Agarwal from Lucknow created Mithila art using natural colours, depicting episodes from the epic Ramayan.
