LU provost to bear expense of labourer’s treatment | Lucknow News

Lucknow: Lucknow University professor and provost of Lal Bahadur Shastri Hostel, Rajeshwar Yadav, agreed to bear medical expenses of outsourced employee Ram Gopal, who was injured seriously after falling from the terrace of provost’s residence on Diwali day.Ram Gopal was reportedly engaged in maintenance work. He suffered severe head injury after falling from the four- storey building and was rushed to Trauma Center for treatment. National Students’ Union of India staged a protest outside the Vice Chancellor’s office on Saturday, demanding accountability and compensation for the injured worker who was made to work even on a holdiday. Responding to allegations, Rajeshwar Yadav said the injured employee was given immediate medical attention. “When the accident happened, we ensured he received proper treatment. Yet, I have taken responsibility for his medical expenses and the outsourcing agency will also share the cost,” he said.
